So September Scurry is over – we had 19 lucky dogs receive their special medals for completing the training challenges in September – all their ‘humans’ had to do was video their training on the three scurry challenges, then tag us in it. And it’s been great seeing everyone’s medal photos too.
The reason I created the September Scurry challenge was so that every dog, regardless of breed, training ability, behaviour issues or reactivity, could get involved. So many training activities are just not open to dogs who struggle in class environments, or who might be reactive to other dogs or humans.

Owners worry that their dog might cause a scene, or embarrass them – or that their dog simply won’t cope with all the distractions.
By putting in place different training ideas and installations, I’m hoping to bring some different activities to dogs and their owners who might not have had the chance to get involved in these things.
And the other thing that’s just amazing about it, is that I get the chance to see what you’ve been upto and chat to you all – as often with the field hire you don’t always see what’s going on if people are (understandably) just getting on with their session (in peace!). I get that, and that’s why we’ve designed the whole process to be as it is, as I wouldn’t want to have to talk to someone every time I went for a dog walk! (Sorry, not sorry!).
I have some ideas for the coming months – it won’t be every month so it’s not overload, and we have to make time also for fun things like Halloween and Christmas, but there will be some other training activities, have-a-go obstacles and challenges coming up.
Thanks for getting involved!
