Scurry September at Welly and Tails

The summer pools are out of the park and Scurry September has arrived – a fun challenge for September only where you can try three different gundog games with your dog!

Each game has a little board showing you how to train the activity and a QR code that links to a short video giving you some extra tips.

But the most fun is that if you record your training, and tag us in your video on social media, I’ll send you out an exclusive FREE Scurry September Challenge medal!

The Scurry Games

There are 3 games we’ve added!

  1. Scurry – a good old fashioned scurry with hay bales for your dogs to run over!
  2. Over the Hedge – we’ve built a mini hedge to replicate jumping over a hedge and hunting out toys
  3. Place board – we’ve repurposed our existing platforms to be a placeboard where you can practice your dog’s steadiness and training.

Why we created Scurry September

I wanted to create a challenge that EVERYONE can get involved in. For those with reactive dogs or dogs who struggle to work off lead, it can be really challenging to get involved with lots of training activities.

You need to commit to weekly classes, or your dog needs to be comfortable around others. It can feel like you can’t get involved in any training.

So I’m trying to bring you fun training activities, where I can give you some pointers via the signs and videos, so that you can work on them in your own time, and so that they’re accessible to ALL dogs.

And you can earn medals or gifts with some of the challenges to reward your hard work!

** EXEMPT DOGS ** I wanted to address how we operate for owners with exempted dogs, as I've had a couple of messages from clients with exempted dogs in the past few days. 1) We DO accept exempted dogs. 2) There is NO extra charge for exempted dogs Our insurance just asks that: ❤️ Only dogs from the same household can attend (so if you have four dogs and one is exempted then you can bring all four, but you couldn't meet up with your friend and their dogs if you're bringing an exempted dog) ❤️ Exempted dogs must keep their muzzle and lead on in the car park but these can be removed once you are in the dog park and the gate has been securely shut. It's important to remember that every insurance provider may have different criteria, so I can't comment on why one place may operate differently or not but this is (thankfully) how ours works which we're grateful for 🙏 Hope that clears things up 🥰

** NEW DOG PARK RULE ** When visiting in future, we will NOT be allowing single dog visits. All dogs MUST now bring matching backup singer dogs for their visit going forward, to allow for perfectly symmetrical photos. Many thanks and thank you for respecting our dog park rules 🙏🙏 (only joking, have to say as sometimes I get messages worrying about if it's true 😂😂)
